
Malaysia’s prestigious 2026 Yang di-Pertuan Agong Scholarship is now open for applications from top students until March 6.
PUTRAJAYA: Applications for the prestigious 2026 Yang di-Pertuan Agong Scholarship are now open.
The Public Service Department (JPA) announced that online applications will be accepted until March 6.
This top-tier government scholarship, also known as the King’s Scholarship, aims to nurture world-class academic and professional leaders. It targets highly capable individuals who demonstrate holistic excellence.
“The scholarship targets highly capable individuals who demonstrate excellence holistically, encompassing academic achievement, non-academic involvement, outstanding leadership and commitment to national development,” JPA said in a statement.
Applications must be submitted via the official JPA portal at https://penajaan.jpa.gov.my. Completed forms must then be printed, signed, and submitted with supporting documents to JPA by hand or post no later than March 13.
The scholarship is open to Malaysians wishing to pursue full-time postgraduate studies. Eligible programmes include Research Master’s or Doctor of Philosophy degrees at local or leading international universities.
Priority fields include Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. Economics, law, Islamic finance, and Artificial Intelligence are also identified as high-impact areas for national development.
The scholarship is also open to civil servants, subject to the general conditions of the existing Study Leave scheme. For further inquiries, applicants may call 03-8885 3569, 3438, 3879, or 3571.
