Transport Minister Anthony Loke announces a review of KTM Komuter schedules to reduce waiting times and shorten trips between Seremban and Kuala Lumpur.
SEREMBAN: The Ministry of Transport will improve KTM Komuter services by reviewing and revising train schedules between Seremban and Kuala Lumpur.
Minister Anthony Loke said the aim is to reduce waiting times and shorten overall journey durations for commuters.
He acknowledged that travel from Seremban to Kuala Lumpur is currently experiencing significant delays. Many commuters report journeys taking one hour 45 minutes, and sometimes up to two hours.

Loke attributed the slowdowns to ongoing track upgrades along the route. Some sections are reduced to a single track, which affects train flow and schedule reliability.
He said further discussions will take place after the Chinese New Year to finalise and implement these measures. The goal is to ensure a smoother and more comfortable commute for passengers.
Loke also noted that ongoing upgrades to Seremban Railway Station and the construction of a new station have caused some inconvenience. He appealed for the public’s understanding during this period.
“We are doing our best, but the new station is expected to take another year to complete,” he told reporters after distributing CNY gift packs at the station. He expressed hope that the new facility will provide greater comfort for Seremban commuters.
In a separate update, Loke said efforts are underway to explore ways to accelerate the Klang Valley Double Track Electrification Phase 2 (KVDT2) project. The project is currently progressing on schedule.
He explained that the project is inherently challenging because work must be carried out on active tracks. While work is done on one track, trains continue running on the other.
Safety considerations limit the time machinery can be on the tracks each day, which naturally slows construction progress.
