Sumbangan Asas Rahmah provides timely relief for families preparing for the fasting month, with RM100 one-off aid widely redeemed
SEREMBAN: The Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) assistance has provided timely relief for families preparing for the extra expenses of the upcoming Ramadan.
Nuraini Ahmad, 64, from Lenggeng, described the aid as crucial support for covering daily necessities and stocking her kitchen for the fasting month.
“Without a pension, and with my husband working as an e-hailing driver, this assistance is truly helpful, easing our daily expenses as it covers essential items,” she said.
Single mother Nurhafizahwati Mohd Nasir, 39, said the SARA aid, including the one-off RM100 SARA Untuk Semua, had helped her manage household expenses more effectively.
She noted that her previous monthly spending of around RM200 could now be nearly halved, allowing for significant savings.
“This assistance really makes a difference for the less fortunate and families with many children,” Nurhafizahwati added.
Retiree Jalil Sarip, 72, echoed that the aid allowed him to prepare for Ramadan in a more organised manner.
Finance Minister II Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan said some 8.1 million recipients had redeemed the RM100 one-off assistance as of last Friday.
Total spending under the initiative has amounted to nearly RM780 million.
He stated the strong response reflects the effectiveness of the government’s approach in ensuring aid reaches people directly to ease cost-of-living pressures.
