
A missing 25-year-old man was found dead inside his car after it plunged into a river in Seremban, with his family using GPS to locate the vehicle.
SEREMBAN: A 25-year-old man reported missing by his family was found dead inside his car after it veered into a river near Sekolah Dato’ Abdul Razak in Sungai Gadut.
Seremban police chief ACP Azahar Abdul Rahim said the family tracked the victim’s last known location using the GPS installed in his Toyota Yaris.
The Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) was alerted and launched a search operation after the vehicle’s signal was detected near the river.
Negeri Sembilan JBPM Zone 1 senior operations commander PPgB Mohd Fadhli Shamsudin said 13 personnel responded to the report received at about 5 pm.
He stated that the victim’s body was discovered inside the car at 6.15 pm, adding that extrication was difficult due to the deep river and strong current from continuous rain.
