
Sabah and Sarawak brace for extended thunderstorms and heavy rain as monsoon wind gusts enter the country, with rough seas warning for the South China Sea.
KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has forecast significant weather with monsoon wind gusts expected to enter the country.
Director-general Dr Mohd Hisham Mohd Anip said the situation could result in wetter weather conditions, bringing thunderstorms and heavy rain for a longer period in Sabah and Sarawak.
This situation has also caused strong winds and rough seas in the South China Sea.
MetMalaysia has issued a strong wind and rough sea warning for the waters of the South China Sea effective from Feb 18 to 21.
The public is advised to always refer to the website www.met.gov.my and MetMalaysia’s official social media for the latest information.
