Airbus plans a record 870 commercial jet deliveries this year after strong 2025 results, capitalising on robust airline demand and a 23% profit jump.
TOULOUSE: Airbus is targeting a record number of commercial aircraft deliveries this year. The European manufacturer aims for around 870 deliveries in 2026, capitalising on strong market demand.
This follows a landmark 2025 characterised by robust demand across all its businesses. Chief executive Guillaume Faury said the year was defined by “very strong demand for our products and services.”
The company’s overall profit jumped 23% to EUR 5.2 billion last year. It also received 1,000 commercial aircraft orders in 2025, with net orders of 889 after cancellations.
Airbus delivered 793 commercial aircraft during the same period. Its 2026 guidance assumes no major new disruptions to the global economy or its supply chain.
Both Airbus and rival Boeing have faced challenges returning to pre-pandemic production levels. Supply chain disruptions have persisted even as airlines seek new, fuel-efficient planes.
Airlines are modernising fleets and expanding to meet expected passenger growth in coming decades.
