
The number of flood evacuees in Sabah increased to 3,768 people by noon, with 18 relief centres active across three affected districts.
KOTA KINABALU: The number of flood victims in Sabah has risen to 3,768 people as of noon today. This marks an increase from the 3,685 individuals reported this morning.
The Sabah State Disaster Management Committee Secretariat confirmed the figures in a statement. All evacuees, involving 1,474 families, are currently housed at 18 active relief centres (PPS).
The Pitas district recorded a significant increase, with victims rising to 1,653 people from 621 families. This is up from 1,515 people from 593 families earlier in the day.
In contrast, Kota Marudu saw a decrease in evacuees to 1,923 people from 778 families. The number of victims in Paitan remains unchanged, with 192 people from 75 families still at relief centres.
The floods have impacted 47 villages across the three districts. Authorities have reported no casualties or deaths related to the disaster so far.
