A Malaysian man’s confession about feeling insecure over his future wife’s higher income has recently gone viral online.
In a post on Threads, the anonymous man admitted he is reconsidering proceeding with his wedding which is to take place after Hari Raya because his future wife earns significantly more than him.
He went on to share that his future wife not only drives a more expensive car but as well owns a handbag that costs three times his salary.
“Guys, my future wife earns more than me.
“Her car is more expensive than mine. Even her handbag costs three months of my salary. I feel like maybe I don’t want to proceed with the wedding after Raya.
“I don’t know… I just feel inadequate.”
The post quickly drew strong reactions, with many netizens pointing out that the issue wasn’t about money — but insecurity.
“You have two choices: upgrade yourself or leave,” one commenter wrote bluntly.
Others were even more direct.
“Women don’t need insecure men. Later she’ll have to baby you,” another user said.
Some advised him to reconsider the relationship entirely if he already feels pressured by her lifestyle.
“If you’re insecure about her life, don’t proceed. Find someone on your level,” one comment read.
