Pahang Palace alerts public to AI-generated fake videos of Sultan offering aid on Facebook, urging caution and reporting of suspicious content.

KUANTAN: The Pahang Palace has issued a public warning over the circulation of fake, AI-generated videos impersonating the Sultan of Pahang.

In a statement on its official Facebook page, the palace denied claims that Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah was offering government financial aid via social media.

It confirmed the detection of several fraudulent video clips produced using artificial intelligence technology. These videos feature a likeness of the Sultan and falsely promote aid schemes.

“The public is advised not to spread these videos, not to trust any links or information contained within them, and to immediately report to the authorities if they receive any suspicious content,” the post stated.

The palace clarified that the Sultan does not maintain any personal social media accounts. All official royal activities and addresses are broadcast exclusively through the verified ‘Pahang Sultanate’ Facebook page, which has approximately 758,000 followers.

On other platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, only the official name ‘Kesultanan Pahang’ is used. The palace also directed the public to its official portal at istanapahang.my for authentic information.
