The government has recovered RM316.68 million in revenue and refunds through audit follow-up actions, with federal entities contributing RM221.52 million.

KUALA LUMPUR: The government has successfully collected RM316.68 million through audit follow-up actions on its own entities.

This recovery comprises revenue and refunds from penalty claims, outstanding rental payments, and arrears on land leases and taxes.

According to the Auditor-General’s Report 1/2026, federal ministries, departments, and companies contributed RM221.52 million of the total.

State governments, departments, and agencies accounted for the remaining RM95.16 million.

The report was tabled in the Dewan Rakyat today.

To expedite resolution, the National Audit Department has developed the Auditor General’s Dashboard (AGD).

This online system ensures audit issues and recommendations are systematically tracked for corrective action.

As of December 31, 2025, 286 issues from reports dating back to 2016 remained under action.

This represents five per cent of the 5,686 total issues still being addressed.

Federal entities were advised to remain committed to implementing corrective measures for all outstanding audit matters.
