
Police are investigating after a break-in at Bukit Kiara Federal Park saw Seputeh MP Teresa Kok lose valuables worth RM6,500.
KUALA LUMPUR: Police are intensifying efforts to track down suspects involved in the smashing of a car window belonging to Seputeh MP Teresa Kok.
The incident occurred at the parking area of the Bukit Kiara Federal Park yesterday.
Brickfields deputy district police chief Supt Ahmad Firdaus Mustaffa Kamal said a report was received at 7.49 pm last night.
He said the incident is believed to have occurred between 6.15 pm and 7 pm while the MP was exercising.
“After completing her exercise, the victim found that the front left door window of her vehicle had been smashed,” he said in a statement today.
Kok reported the loss of a handbag containing important documents, a mobile phone and cash.
Estimated losses from the theft amount to RM6,500.
Ahmad Firdaus said the forensic team lifted three fingerprint impressions from the vehicle.
These have been sent to the Forensic Biometric Identification System (BIOFIS) at Bukit Aman for analysis.
The case is being investigated for theft.
He also advised the public to remain vigilant and to avoid leaving valuables inside their vehicles.
This precaution is to prevent similar incidents from occurring.
