
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim meets top military brass to discuss national security, defence preparedness and personnel welfare at Wisma Perwira.
KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today convened a meeting with the senior leadership of the Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF).
The session at Wisma Perwira lasted approximately one hour and focused on national security and defence preparedness.
Discussions also centred on strengthening governance and the welfare of MAF personnel.
Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin and Chief of Defence Forces General Datuk Malek Razak Sulaiman were among the key attendees.
Also present were Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar and Defence Ministry secretary-general Datuk Lokman Hakim Ali.
The Implementation Coordination Unit director-general Datuk Seri Sollehuddin Alyubi Zakaria and Deputy Public Service director-general (Operations) Datuk Mohd Shaiful Ibrahim were also in attendance.
Following the meeting, Anwar participated in the Defence Ministry’s Ihya Ramadan programme at the Khalid bin Al-Walid Mosque.
He joined congregants for Zohor prayers before distributing bubur lambuk to those present.
