MAHB advises passengers to check flight status amid Middle East airspace restrictions, warning of potential delays, rerouting, or cancellations.
KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) has issued a travel advisory for passengers using routes to, from, or through parts of the Middle East.
The airport operator said airspace restrictions in the region may cause delays, rerouting, or cancellations based on airline safety assessments.
“Even where services continue to operate, schedules and routing may be revised at short notice,” MAHB said in a statement.
It advised passengers to verify their flight status directly with their airline before heading to the airport.
Disruptions are not limited to direct services from KL International Airport (KLIA).
Passengers travelling via alternative transit points may also face suspended or restricted onward services into affected destinations.
MAHB said the airport community is working closely to monitor developments.
Airport teams are on standby to provide guidance and assist affected passengers at the terminals.
Passengers are encouraged to update their contact details with airlines and monitor official channels for updates.
For information on passenger rights, travellers may refer to the Malaysian Aviation Consumer Protection Code.
Official travel advisories from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs should also be consulted prior to travel.
“Safety remains the highest priority,” the statement added.
