Harry Kane’s brace and a late Joshua Kimmich winner saw Bayern Munich snatch a 3-2 victory at Borussia Dortmund, moving them 11 points clear in the Bundesliga

BAYERN MUNICH all but sealed the Bundesliga title with a dramatic 3-2 comeback victory at rivals Borussia Dortmund on Saturday. Harry Kane scored twice before Joshua Kimmich’s late winner moved the Bavarian giants 11 points clear at the summit with only 10 matchdays remaining.

The result ended Dortmund’s lingering title hopes and compounded a difficult week following their Champions League exit. Dortmund have lost just twice in 24 league games this season, with both defeats coming against Bayern.

Nico Schlotterbeck headed the hosts in front from a Daniel Svensson corner after 26 minutes. Bayern levelled against the run of play in the 54th minute when Serge Gnabry headed Joshua Kimmich’s chip across goal for Kane to tap in.

Kane then converted a penalty 20 minutes later after Schlotterbeck fouled Josip Stanisic. The England captain’s brace took his league tally to 30 goals from 24 games this season.

Dortmund equalised through Svensson’s swept finish with seven minutes remaining. Bayern refused to settle for a draw, however, and Kimmich hammered in the decisive goal from close range in the 87th minute after Dortmund failed to clear a cross.

In other matches, Bayer Leverkusen snatched a 1-1 home draw with Mainz thanks to Jarell Quansah’s 88th-minute equaliser. The point moved Leverkusen three behind fourth-placed Stuttgart, having played a game fewer.

St Pauli continued their resurgence with a 1-0 win at high-flying Hoffenheim, climbing out of the relegation zone. Borussia Moenchengladbach also secured a crucial 1-0 victory over Union Berlin via a Kevin Diks penalty in stoppage time.

Werder Bremen moved out of the automatic relegation places with a 2-0 home win against bottom side Heidenheim.
