National shuttler Goh Jin Wei clinched her first BWF title since 2016, defeating Indonesia’s Komang Ayu Cahya Dewi in straight games at the Singapore International Challenge.

PROFESSIONAL women’s singles shuttler Goh Jin Wei ended an eight-year title drought by winning the Singapore International Challenge.

The third-seeded Malaysian took just 30 minutes to defeat unseeded Indonesian Komang Ayu Cahya Dewi 21-11, 21-11 at the Singapore Badminton Hall East Coast @ Expo.

This victory marks the world number 55’s first Badminton World Federation title since capturing the Orleans International crown in France back in 2016.

The 26-year-old’s previous major successes include the women’s singles gold at the 2017 SEA Games in Kuala Lumpur and the gold medal at the 2018 Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires.

She is also a two-time World Junior Champion, having secured those titles in 2015 and 2018.
