Iran’s aid agency says at least 555 killed and over 130 regions affected as rescue workers respond to widespread Israeli-US attacks.
TEHRAN: Iran’s Red Crescent has reported at least 555 people killed as a result of joint Israeli-United States attacks, according to a statement cited by the Fars News Agency.
The aid organisation stated that more than 100,000 rescue workers have been deployed nationwide in response to the crisis.
It confirmed that over 130 regions across the country are now affected by the war.
Since Saturday, Israel and the US have stated they struck hundreds of targets across Iran, including missile launch sites and facilities linked to Iran’s nuclear programme.
The attacks also targeted military headquarters and senior members of the country’s political leadership.
The capital, Tehran, was again heavily bombarded on Sunday following the initial strikes.
Iran’s supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, was killed during the attacks on Saturday.
