Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil launches KinderHub@MCMC, a childcare centre supporting staff with quality care for children aged three months to six years.
CYBERJAYA: The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has launched an on-site childcare centre and kindergarten to enhance staff wellbeing and support family responsibilities.
Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil said the KinderHub@MCMC initiative reflects a commitment to creating a more family-friendly workplace.
“This marks a significant step in enhancing staff wellbeing,” Fahmi said at the launch.
He explained the facility is designed to offer quality childcare and early education, helping employees balance their careers and family duties.
Operating since January 15, the centre currently cares for 76 children aged three months to six years.
It has a total capacity for up to 153 children and operates daily from 7 am to 7 pm.
Fahmi expressed hope that the initiative would set an example for other statutory bodies to provide better support for their employees.
He acknowledged that not every organisation has MCMC’s resources but encouraged the sharing of ideas.
“If other capable statutory bodies don’t yet have such facilities, they can be invited to see what we’ve done so it can serve as an example,” said Fahmi.
Also present at the launch were Ministry Secretary-General Datuk Abdul Halim Hamzah and MCMC chairman Tan Sri Salim Fateh Din.
