The International Positive Energy Half Marathon & Sports Wellness Carnival 2026 launches at KL Wellness City, Bukit Jalil
THE International Positive Energy Half Marathon & Sports Wellness Carnival 2026 was officially launched today at KL Wellness City @ Bukit Jalil, marking a significant milestone in Malaysia’s positioning as a global destination for wellness tourism and active living.
The launch ceremony was officiated by Samuel Lee, Deputy Director-General of Tourism Malaysia, and featured keynote addresses by Datuk Seri Dr. Vincent Tiew, Executive Director of KL Wellness City, and Richmen Choo, Managing Director of KT Cyclone Sdn. Bhd. and main organiser of the event.

Tiew framed the occasion as something larger than a sporting event. “This launch represents more than just a marathon. It embodies our mission to promote Positive Energy values, well-being, moral upliftment, and social unity while connecting private, industry, and government sectors to create a truly holistic and energising experience for all participants,” he said.
Choo echoed the sentiment, highlighting the event’s international scope and community purpose. “We are excited to bring together participants from over 30 countries for a marathon and wellness carnival that goes beyond sports. Through this initiative, we aim to energise, inspire, and unite the community, while supporting meaningful causes like the Malaysia Scout Club and the National Cancer Society Malaysia,” he said.
Lee added that the venue itself was a fitting symbol of Malaysia’s wellness ambitions. “I am honoured to officiate this launch at KL Wellness City, which perfectly showcases Malaysia’s potential as a wellness and tourism destination. Events like this bring together international participants, local communities, and government agencies to celebrate wellness, active lifestyles, and positive energy,” he said.
The three-day carnival is scheduled for May 15 to 17 at the National Stadium Bukit Jalil, with the half marathon taking place on the morning of May 17. Race categories include the full half marathon of 21KM, a 10KM run, and a 5KM Fun Run.
Beyond the race itself, the event promises a wide-ranging programme encompassing more than 300 wellness and sports exhibition booths, interactive workshops, Public Safety Exhibitions, Digital Safety and Cybersecurity Awareness sessions, and Relay for Life activities including a Torch Relay, Luminaria Ceremony, and Cancer Survivor Celebrations.
An outdoor food and beverage bazaar featuring over 200 halal and non-halal vendors will also be held alongside a RichestLife Positive Energy Zone offering motivational activities, family bonding sessions, and health education.
Co-organisers of the event include KT Cyclone Sdn. Bhd., the Malaysia Scout Club, RichestLife (Super Life Secret Code), the National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM), and KL Wellness City. The event also aims to generate funds for the Malaysia Scout Club and NCSM, while stimulating tourism and economic activity for local businesses through its bazaar and associated activities.
Among the Guests of Honour confirmed for the marathon are Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah, Sultan of Perak and Timbalan Yang di-Pertuan Agong Malaysia; Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia; Datuk Seri Dr. Dzulkefly Ahmad, Minister of Health; YB Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing, Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture; and Hannah Yeoh Tseow Suan, Minister of Federal Territories.
