Time and again, Malaysians and foreigners have expressed appreciation for the dedication of medical practitioners who prioritise proper diagnosis and comprehensive follow-up—especially when it comes to children’s care—highlighting why government healthcare remains a trusted pillar.
A Malaysian man recently emphasised the importance of sending children to government clinics and hospitals, particularly for dental treatments, citing their low costs and efficiency.
In a Threads post, he listed several advantages of taking children to these facilities, including shorter waiting times when appointments are booked through the MySejahtera application.
Another key benefit highlighted was the affordability of medical treatments, as well as the thorough care practised by doctors and nurses for each patient.
Netizens supported the post, echoing its claims of receiving high-quality medical treatment, although some noted that waiting times may vary depending on appointment schedules.
One user explained the difference in treatment received during dental visits at private clinics compared with government facilities, saying that private dentists tend to carry out procedures requested by patients, while dentists at government clinics focus more on identifying and addressing the root cause of the condition.
“My kids always follow up their dental treatments at government dental facilities so their records are clean when there are school dental check-ups,” the user said.
Beyond dental care, netizens also praised government healthcare practitioners for their attentive treatment of children, noting that nurses closely monitor each child’s health and provide a range of supportive health services at a significantly lower cost than private facilities.
