Home minister Saifuddin Nasution denies social media claims of an attack at Meru police station, calling speculation irresponsible and urging accurate reporting.

MELAKA: Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail has firmly denied social media claims of an attack at the Meru police station in Klang.

He labelled the speculation as irresponsible and warned it could cause unnecessary public concern.

“Any form of reporting based on speculation or inaccurate information must be stopped,” he said after officiating an Immigration Department event here.

The minister was joined by Immigration director-general Datuk Zakaria Shaaban and Melaka police chief Datuk Dzulkhairi Mukhtar.

He stated there is currently no need for police to review their standard operating procedures following the incident.

This follows police reports detailing arrests connected to a fight at the station.

North Klang district police chief ACP S Vijaya Rao said five men were arrested after the altercation.

Selangor police chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar later confirmed three more suspects were detained.
