Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi calls for immediate action against attempts to undermine political stability, citing ongoing police investigations.
KUALA LUMPUR: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has called for immediate action against any party attempting to topple the government.
He stressed that political stability must not be undermined by media manipulation or external influence.
“Political stability should not be undermined for someone who feels that the media and outside parties can be used to damage political stability in our country,” he told reporters after a meeting with Felda’s top management.
Ahmad Zahid stated the matter is under investigation by the Royal Malaysia Police.
He urged all parties to allow enforcement agencies time for a thorough probe.
“So we leave it to the authorities to conduct an investigation as mentioned by the Inspector-General of Police and the statement issued by the Prime Minister earlier,” he said.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim revealed last Tuesday an alleged attempt to overthrow the government.
He said the attempt was allegedly supported by locals leveraging media and international institutions, including prominent Zionist groups.
