A female trainee doctor was found deceased in a hospital dormitory bathroom, with police stating no initial signs of foul play.

KOTA BHARU: A 29-year-old female trainee doctor was found dead in a dormitory at Sultan Ismail Petra Hospital in Kuala Krai.

Kuala Krai district police chief Supt Mazlan Mamat said authorities were alerted to the death at approximately 9.55 am yesterday.

A police team was dispatched to the location to investigate the incident.

“Investigations at the location found that the victim was a female trainee doctor, 29, who was found dead in the bathroom of the dormitory,” Mazlan said in a statement.

“Preliminary investigations at the location found no sign of criminal elements.”

The body has been sent to the hospital’s forensics unit for a post-mortem examination.

Police have classified the case as a sudden death for further investigation.

Mazlan urged anyone with information regarding the incident to contact the Kuala Krai police station at 09-9666222.
