Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim pays tribute to women, calling them key drivers of family strength and national progress

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has described women as the pulse of a family’s strength, the pillar of society and a crucial driver of national progress.

In a Facebook post marking International Women’s Day, Anwar stated that behind every strong family and prosperous society lies the sacrifice, perseverance and wisdom of women.

He expressed deep personal appreciation for the women in his life, particularly his wife Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and their children.

“They have always been a source of strength, patience and support throughout this journey of struggle,” he said.

Anwar emphasised that this same strength is found in millions of women across the nation.

He highlighted the roles of mothers, wives, children, educators, caregivers and community leaders who strive daily for their families and country.

The Prime Minister called on the community to collectively appreciate the role and immense contributions of women.

He urged for continued efforts to ensure women are respected, empowered and given fair space to contribute to national progress.

“You are the strength, hope and future of the country,” Anwar concluded in his tribute.
