Statements from family, friends and lecturers have been recorded as Kelantan police investigate the death of a female trainee doctor at a Kuala Krai hospital.

KOTA BHARU: Police have recorded statements from more than 10 individuals to assist in the investigation into the death of a female trainee doctor at Sultan Ismail Petra Hospital in Kuala Krai.

Kelantan police chief Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mamat said those called in include the victim’s family members, friends and lecturers.

He stated that no criminal element has been detected in the incident so far, with investigations still ongoing.

The case has been taken over by the Kelantan police contingent headquarters for a more detailed investigation to determine the exact cause of death.

Mohd Yusoff added that various claims, including that the victim may have experienced stress, are being examined as part of the probe.

The female trainee doctor was found dead in a room at the hospital on Friday.

Kuala Krai police chief Supt Mazlan Mamat confirmed that police were informed of the incident at 9.55 am, prompting officers from the district Criminal Investigation Division and Kuala Krai police station to rush to the scene.
