New nationwide platform PRISMAnita offers fast, coordinated help for women in abuse or crisis, integrating services across government agencies.

KUALA LUMPUR: Women facing abuse or crisis situations will soon have faster access to help under PRISMAnita, a new nationwide platform designed to strengthen protection and support services.

Launching the PRISMAnita (Perantara Rujukan, Intervensi, Sokongan Maklumat dan Advokasi untuk Wanita) initiative, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the platform will serve as an integrated referral and support system, enabling women to quickly obtain assistance through coordinated services across multiple government agencies.

“PRISMAnita will facilitate access to services that are fast, coordinated and victim-friendly,

“This initiative should not operate in isolation within the ministry but must be supported by all government agencies. We must ensure that programmes do not move in silos.

“Every ministry and department must fully support these initiatives to strengthen the nation’s social framework,” he said at the launch at Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre today.

The launch was held in conjunction with the International Women’s Day 2026 celebration organised by the Women, Family and Community Development ministry(KPWKM).

Also present were KPWKM minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri, her deputy Lim Hui Ying, and deputy prime minister Datuk Fadillah Yusof.

The platform will provide a range of services, including counselling, referrals, advocacy and coordinated case management involving multiple stakeholders.

Anwar said it aims to ensure women’s issues are addressed holistically through better coordination among relevant agencies.

“For the nation’s social framework, we must ensure that women’s agenda is prioritised.

“The support offered is comprehensive, covering counselling services, referrals and case coordination, as well as information platforms, service matching and crisis support,” he said.

PRISMAnita will also serve as an advocacy hub to strengthen public awareness and implementation of laws related to women’s protection, including the Anti-Sexual Harassment Act 2022 and the Domestic Violence Act 1994.

Centres will be established at women’s development offices in all states nationwide.

Beyond PRISMAnita, the government will introduce tax incentives for corporations that support women’s empowerment initiatives.

“These incentives include initiatives related to childcare support, flexible work arrangements, career development programmes and skills training,” Anwar said.

He added that the measures align with the National Women’s Policy 2025–2030, which emphasises women’s empowerment, social protection and inclusive economic participation.

He also highlighted the Self-Employed Housewives’ Social Security Scheme, managed by the Social Security Organisation (SOCSO), noting that it provides protection benefits with an annual contribution of RM120.

The prime minister said such initiatives are essential to strengthening women’s economic resilience and social protection in Malaysia.

“Events like this are not just a routine celebration, but a reminder for the entire nation — not just women — to recognise and appreciate the role of women,” he said.
