A customer claimed he waited almost three hours for a delivery after a rider allegedly paused the job for iftar, prompting criticism and similar stories online.
A delivery rider was recently called out for allegedly delaying the delivery of an item due to breaking his fast before dropping it off.
Taking to Threads, a distraught customer voiced his grievances against the rider, claiming he had called the rider multiple times before being informed that the rider was taking a break for iftar.
“You should have just rested instead of taking this job. I have things I need to do as well,” he said in his viral post.

According to screenshots shared in the post, the customer said he had to wait from 6.43pm until 9.09pm — nearly three hours — for a parcel delivery.
The customer added in the comments section that he has encountered such issues before, as he frequently uses the delivery platform for his purchases.
Netizens were equally furious, condemning the rider for wasting the customer’s time while also sharing their own experiences dealing with riders on the same delivery platform.
One user claimed that riders on the platform often “leave customers waiting” because of strikes against the company over low commission rates. As a result, the riders allegedly accept any job but leave customers hanging, waiting for them to cancel so the riders do not lose their ratings.
“I got a rider who did the same thing. The item had already been ready for pick-up and he accepted the order. I checked the map and saw him going all over the place, so I waited for an hour before cancelling and looking for another rider. The distance was only about 15 minutes,” a user alleged.
“He was willing to just let the order sit there like that. If he cancels, his points get deducted. So he waits for the customer to cancel instead so he won’t lose any points,” speculated another.
