SHAH ALAM: Police have arrested two more individuals in connection with a gang robbery in Gombak on Feb 27, bringing the total number of suspects detained to six, including two senior police officers and a policeman.
Selangor police chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar said the two latest suspects were picked up on March 10 and are now under remand to assist in the investigation following a series of arrests that began on March 2.
He confirmed that all suspects involved in the case have now been apprehended, with the investigation paper submitted to the Bukit Aman Legal Affairs Division for review and legal opinion as the case involves serving police personnel.
Speaking to reporters at the Selangor police contingent headquarters, Shazeli stated that the alleged mastermind behind the gang robbery was a civilian and that all the suspects knew each other.
Meanwhile, police have obtained several positive leads in their investigations into separate incidents involving vehicle arson and criminal intimidation in the Taman Kinrara residential area of Puchong, which occurred on Monday and Tuesday.
Shazeli assured that the investigations into all these cases would be conducted transparently and fairly without any element of bias.
He also advised the public to refrain from speculation or provocation, particularly on sensitive issues related to religion, royalty and race.
“I would like to stress that the police will not compromise with any party involved in inciting or spreading such issues,” he said.
Police had earlier opened three investigation papers over the vehicle arson and criminal intimidation incidents in Puchong.
Two investigation papers were opened under Sections 427 and 506 of the Penal Code for mischief and criminal intimidation, while another was opened under Section 435 for mischief by fire involving vehicles.
