Perak police appoint new NCID chief and district police heads in Ipoh and Hilir Perak, ensuring leadership continuity and operational stability.
IPOH: Perak police have announced several key senior appointments, including a new head for the state Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (NCID) and new district police chiefs.
The reshuffle sees ACP Mohd Husni Manaf appointed as the acting Perak NCID chief, replacing ACP Lee King Chuan.
ACP Lee has been reassigned as the director of Investigation and Prosecution at the Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS).
Meanwhile, ACP Muhammad Najib Hamzah is now the Ipoh district police chief, while ACP Chua Kok Lian takes over as the Hilir Perak district police chief.
Perak police chief Datuk Noor Hisam Nordin said the appointments ensure leadership continuity and smooth operations.
He added that the officers’ experience and commitment will bolster department and district leadership.
Noor Hisam also thanked the outgoing officers for their service during a handover-of-duties ceremony.
Former Ipoh district police chief ACP Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad will become Deputy Commander (Training) at the Kuala Lumpur Police Training Centre (PULAPOL).
Former Hilir Perak district police chief ACP Dr Bakri Zainal Abidin was honoured on his mandatory retirement after 39 years of service.
In a separate development, Noor Hisam said Perak police are collecting details on unlicensed houses of worship statewide.
He said they are identifying premises to give the state government an accurate picture of registered locations.
“Once the information is complete, we will meet with state authorities to determine the next steps,” he said.
He added that Perak police have received no reports of racial tensions arising from unlicensed houses of worship.
