
A 50-year-old man was found dead with stab wounds in a Petaling Jaya shophouse, with police investigating the case as murder.
PETALING JAYA: A local man was found dead with stab wounds inside a shophouse unit yesterday.
The 50-year-old victim was discovered by a man who found him lying unconscious and covered in blood.
Petaling Jaya police chief ACP Shamsudin Mamat said a report was lodged at 2.20 pm.
“Initial investigations indicate that the victim is believed to have died from a stab wound to the chest,” he said in a statement.
A post-mortem will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
Police urge the public with information to come forward to assist the investigation.

In a separate case, an elderly woman lost over RM2 million to an alleged investment scam.
Wangsa Maju police chief ACP Mohamad Lazim Ismail said the 66-year-old victim reported being deceived by a scheme introduced in 2023.
The victim was promised dividend returns of 10% every three months.
She made several payments totalling millions but received no returns as promised.
Mohamad Lazim said the victim suffered losses amounting to RM2,262,750.
This case is being investigated under Section 420 of the Penal Code for cheating.
