Kuching City FC moved up to second in the Super League after a 1-0 win over Penang, while Immigration FC edged Sabah 2-1 in a dramatic late comeback

KUCHING City FC climbed to second in the Super League standings after a narrow 1-0 away victory over Penang FC.

Striker Gabriel Nistelrooy Tamin scored the only goal five minutes before half-time at the City Stadium in Penang.

The win gives Kuching City 40 points from 19 matches, leapfrogging both Selangor FC and Kuala Lumpur City FC who have 38 points.

In another match, Immigration FC came from behind to defeat Sabah FC 2-1 at the Likas Stadium in Kota Kinabalu.

Sabah took the lead in the 29th minute through striker Darren Lok before Colombian Wilmar Jordan Gil equalised from the penalty spot in the 74th minute.

Striker Mohammad Fayadh Mohd Zulkifli Amin then scored the winner for Immigration in the 83rd minute.

Sabah thought they had equalised late through a Dean Pelekanos free-kick, but the goal was disallowed after a VAR review ruled a player was offside and obstructing the goalkeeper.

The result leaves Immigration in seventh place with 21 points, while Sabah remain 10th in the 13-team league with 15 points.
