Education Ministry completes 22 upgrade projects in Kampung Kuak Hulu, Perak, under the MADANI adopted village programme, with more underway
PENGKALAN HULU: A total of 22 upgrade projects under the MADANI adopted village programme in Kampung Kuak Hulu here have been completed as of this month.
Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek said the projects were part of 32 improvement initiatives implemented by the Prime Minister’s Department’s Implementation Coordination Unit, the Public Works Department, and the Irrigation and Drainage Department, involving a total value of over RM20 million.
“For Kampung Kuak Hulu alone, many community-involved projects have been completed, such as the school hall… the futsal court has also been completed,” she told reporters at the MADANI Education Minister’s Breaking of Fast event at Sekolah Kebangsaan Kampung Kuak Hulu.
She added that slope repair work was in process, alongside bridges and several other projects that she believed had fully benefited the local community.
The construction of the school hall cost RM149,500, while the upgraded futsal court was completed at a cost of RM200,000.
Other upgraded facilities included a public hall, riverbanks, the toilets at Masjid Al-Bakri, and Padang Cong, all aimed at enhancing local community welfare.
Fadhlina said the completion of major projects like the school hall also opened opportunities for other agencies to contribute to strengthening school development and the education ecosystem.
Contributions received included two Smartboard TV units from the Yayasan Guru Tun Hussein Onn, expected to breathe new life into digital teaching and learning processes in classrooms.
“Thanks also to Perbadanan Kota Buku for contributing a Mini Reading Pod with a RM5,000 book purchase credit, and five tablets complete with BookR Class digital materials for school use,” she said.
She also acknowledged the Ministry’s Sports, Co-curricular and Arts Division for contributing sports equipment, including five futsal and takraw balls and 20 bib jerseys to encourage active and healthy pupils.
Fadhlina stated that the programme’s implementation reflected the continuous commitment of the government and the Ministry in resolving critical infrastructure issues that have long burdened the education community and local residents.
Kampung Kuak Hulu was chosen as one of the locations for the Education Minister’s MADANI Santuni Programme in 2024 after the ministry conducted an in-depth study, considering its demographic position in northern Perak.
