The Madani administration cites a stronger ringgit, record-low unemployment, and major tourism targets as key achievements in its first three years.
IPOH: Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming has outlined several key economic achievements by the Madani Government over the past three years.
He highlighted that the Malaysian ringgit has become the best-performing currency in Asia while the national unemployment rate has fallen to 2.9%, its lowest level in 11 years.
The minister also projected that Malaysia would attract over 47 million international tourists in conjunction with the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign.
Nga stated that the government, led by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, has acted swiftly to tackle global uncertainty with various people-centric measures.
He noted the government continues to absorb high petrol costs to shield citizens from price hikes, even as fuel in neighbouring Singapore has reached RM10.30 per litre.
The minister cited the affordable BUDI95 internet package, priced at RM1.99, as a major government initiative to assist the people.
To reduce expenditure, the Prime Minister has also instructed ministers and civil servants to suspend non-essential official visits abroad.
Nga added that the Cabinet has decided to hold weekly National Economic Action Council meetings to discuss immediate responses to international changes.
“These measures prove that under the leadership of the Madani Government, the country is able to maintain political stability and face the global war crisis and minimise its effects on the economy,” he said.
