The Federal Territory Mosque in Kuala Lumpur offers a dedicated rest stop for motorcyclists and p-hailing riders, providing free refreshments and phone charging during Ramadan

KUALA LUMPUR: The Federal Territory Mosque here has launched a special initiative called the “Barakah Pit Stop” to provide a dedicated resting facility for motorcyclists and p-hailing delivery riders.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Dr Zulkifli Hasan said the initiative offers free phone charging as well as complimentary food and drinks during Ramadan.

“I understand their hardship because I once rode a motorcycle to work myself,” he said in a Facebook post today.

“That is why the mosque is seen as the best place for them to stop by, rest their bodies, calm their souls, and draw closer to Allah SWT.”

He also extended his gratitude to the Federal Territory Islamic Religious Council (MAIWP), the mosque’s management, and the Pertubuhan Kebajikan Prihatin Insan Kuala Lumpur dan Selangor (Pekerti) for their commitment to the initiative.

Zulkifli added that MAIWP also presented a cheque for RM105,000 to Pekerti to ensure the programme’s success and that zakat benefits reach those in need directly.

“God willing, this effort will be expanded to other mosques so that more people will stop by the house of Allah and reap its blessings,” he said.
