MELAKA: The Prime Minister’s Office has allocated RM300,000 for the Juadah Ramadan MADANI initiative to provide iftar meals for frontline personnel across the country.
Political secretary to the Prime Minister, Chan Ming Kai, said the programme was a sincere gesture of appreciation for those who continue their duties during the holy month.
He stated that Melaka was the final stop in the nationwide distribution series, with 650 police officers and personnel receiving the food packages today.
“We are reaching out to these frontline workers because even during Ramadan they must continue their duties, and some have to break their fast while on duty,” he told reporters at the Melaka contingent police headquarters.
Chan expressed hope that the contribution would serve as a token of appreciation for the sacrifices of the nation’s frontline personnel.
He added that the initiative recognised those who always stand firm in defending the country’s peace and sovereignty.
The event was also attended by the director of the Implementation Coordination Unit, Mohd Shahrul Shari, and Melaka police management department head Supt Nik Abdul Halim Nik Mat.
