Overhead line failure between Batang Benar and Labu stations disrupts ETS and KTM Komuter services, forcing train cancellations and bus replacements.

KUALA LUMPUR: Electric Train Service and KTM Komuter services on the Batu Caves to Pulau Sebang route were disrupted today due to an overhead line equipment failure.

The fault occurred at KM434.423 between Batang Benar and Labu stations, according to Keretapi Tanah Melayu Bhd.

Several operational adjustments have been implemented to manage the disruption.

ETS train EP9532 from Johor Bahru Sentral to Kuala Lumpur Sentral will now terminate at Seremban.

Passengers from that service will be transferred by bus to KL Sentral and intermediate stations.

For southbound ETS services, trains EP9537 and EP9579 from KL Sentral to JB Sentral will use buses from KL Sentral to Gadut.

Passengers will then continue their journey by train from Gadut station.

KTM Komuter services are also affected with multiple cancellations and bus replacements.

Train 2047 from Batu Caves to Pulau Sebang will be replaced by bus services from Batang Benar to Seremban.

Komuter Train 2049 will terminate at Batang Benar, while Train 2051 will terminate at Labu.

Train 2055 will terminate at Bangi, with affected passengers continuing by bus.

ETS and Komuter services from Pulau Sebang to KL Sentral will terminate at Seremban.

Services from KL Sentral towards Pulau Sebang will terminate at Bangi until further notice.

Passengers affected by the disruption who choose not to travel can obtain a full refund at ticket counters.

KTMB said technical teams are on-site carrying out inspection and restoration works.

The company aims to resume normal operations as soon as possible.

“Passengers are advised to plan their journeys and obtain the latest updates via KTMB’s official channels,” it said in a statement.

This includes checking the company’s social media platforms and consulting station staff.

KTMB also apologised for the inconvenience caused by the service disruption.

The company thanked passengers for their patience and cooperation during the incident.
