The Ministry of Education implements the King’s directive, monitoring outdoor activities and allowing sports attire to protect students and staff from extreme heat.

PUTRAJAYA: The Ministry of Education is upholding a royal decree to safeguard students and staff during the current hot weather.

The ministry has issued instructions to all institutions under its administration to implement precautionary measures.

These measures include closely monitoring the implementation of all outdoor activities. Schools have also been granted special permission to allow students, teachers, and support staff to wear appropriate sports attire.

The instructions follow a decree from His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia. In a Facebook post, the King emphasised the importance of safeguarding health by reducing outdoor activities during hot and dry weather.

He also stressed ensuring adequate water intake throughout this period. Sultan Ibrahim said the MOE should give serious attention to the matter to protect student health.
