Israeli military intensifies strikes on Iran’s military industries, vowing to destroy most production capabilities within days.
JERUSALEM: The Israeli military says it struck an industrial complex in Tehran used for the research and development of naval weapons.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated the target was the headquarters of Iran’s Marine Industries Organisation. It said the strike was part of a wave of attacks conducted overnight from Friday to Saturday.
“This headquarters is responsible for the research, development, and production of a wide range of naval weaponry,” the military said. This includes surface and sub-surface vessels, manned and unmanned equipment, as well as engines and weapons.
Later on Saturday, the military announced it had intensified strikes on Iran’s military industries. Military spokesman Brigadier General Effie Defrin outlined the campaign’s goals in a televised briefing.
“I can now say that within a few days, we will complete attacks on all critical components of this industry,” Defrin said. He added this would destroy most of Iran’s military production capabilities.
The spokesman stated it would take the regime a long time to rebuild them. Since the start of the war on February 28, joint US-Israeli attacks have also struck Iran’s nuclear sites.
These targets have included a uranium processing facility and a heavy water reactor.
