Health Minister Dzulkefly Ahmad assures stable medical device supplies as government focuses on securing raw material availability, with pricing under negotiation
JOHOR BAHRU: The government is prioritising the assurance of adequate raw material supplies for medical device manufacturing.
Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad stated that price negotiations with China for resin and naphtha are ongoing under a willing buyer, willing seller concept.
“Ensure the supply, we secure first all related matters… the price is being negotiated, willing buyer, willing seller, there’s no problems,” he told reporters.
He was speaking at the Pulai parliamentary Raya celebrations in Taman Bukit Indah.
Dzulkefly was responding to questions about government savings following a strategic procurement agreement between the Medical Device Authority and China.
He emphasised there would be no supply disruptions affecting medical device production.
The Health Ministry confirmed the stability of medical device supplies in a statement yesterday.
It attributed this to close monitoring and continued mitigation measures.
