American pop sensation Debbie Gibson is staging her comeback in Singapore this August with a special one-night show—her first appearance in the city in two years and her only confirmed Southeast Asian date for 2026. The 55-year-old singer-songwriter will headline the “Newstalgia” tour at the Gateway Theatre on August 21.
Singapore audiences have the rare chance to see Gibson live; no performances have been scheduled yet for neighbouring Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia or the Philippines. Following Singapore, her next shows will take place in Australia, visiting Perth, Melbourne, Hobart and Brisbane.
Gibson shot to fame in 1987 with her debut album Out of the Blue, released when she was just 16. She followed up in 1989 with Electric Youth, featuring global hits like “Lost In Your Eyes,” “Foolish Beat,” “No More Rhyme” and “We Could Be Together.” These tracks solidified her status as a leading teen pop icon of the late ’80s and early ’90s.
Beyond her music career, Gibson has graced Broadway’s Les Misérables and London’s West End production of Grease. Her Singapore concert is set to attract fans who came of age during her chart-dominating years.
Tickets become available this Thursday via Ticketmaster, ranging from S$122 to S$300 (around RM427–RM1,050). A VIP package offers a private photo session with Gibson post-show. For the latest news, follow the promoter on Instagram: @modeent_sg.
