LAHAD DATU, Oct 10 — Three Indonesian citizens died while three others were critically injured after the car they were in skidded and overturned at Batu 18, Sandau Road here afternoon today.
Lahad Datu Fire and Rescue Station chief Sumsoa Rashid said the two women and a man aged between 36 and 41, were confirmed dead at the scene.
“The Fire Department received an emergency call at 3.05 pm via the MERS999 line and eight personnel from the Lahad Datu Fire and Rescue Station rushed to the scene, located about 31 kilometers from the town center.
“The fire team used special equipment to extricate all the trapped victims. Two women and a man, also Indonesians aged between 40 and 46, were critically injured. They were taken to Lahad Datu Hospital for further treatment,” he said in a statement here today.
Sumsoa said the bodies of the deceased were handed over to the police for further action.
“The operation ended at 5.27 pm, after ensuring the situation at the scene was safe,” he said. — The Borneo Post
