A local actress and her husband are remanded for three days over an alleged scam involving non-existent land, causing RM1.5 million in losses

SEREMBAN: An actress and her husband have been remanded for three days to assist in a police investigation into an alleged land scam.

The 35-year-old woman and her 41-year-old husband are suspected of involvement in the sale of non-existent alienated land lots, causing losses of RM1.5 million.

Magistrate Nurul Azuin Mohd Talhah issued the remand order against the couple here today.

The two suspects arrived at the Magistrate’s Court at 9.18 am under tight police escort.

They were dressed in purple lock-up attire for the proceedings.

Seremban district police chief ACP Azahar Abdul Rahim said the couple were arrested yesterday at a village in Batu 11, Hulu Langat, Selangor.

He said the arrest followed a police report lodged by a 56-year-old former businessman.

The complainant claimed he was cheated in a deal to obtain state government alienated land in Selangor.

Azahar said the victim had dealings with the suspects from September 2023 to November 2025.

During that period, the complainant made 195 transactions, suffering total losses amounting to RM1.5 million.

The remand is to facilitate further investigation under Section 420 of the Penal Code for cheating.
