
PAS vice-president Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar named new Perikatan Nasional chairman after Muhyiddin Yassin’s resignation
KUALA LUMPUR: PAS vice-president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar has been appointed the new Perikatan Nasional chairman.
The announcement was confirmed to theSun by Malaysian Indian People Party (MIPP) leader Punithan Paramsiven.
This follows a coalition meeting to formally accept the resignation of Muhyiddin Yassin as PN chairman, after which the appointment of a new chairman was approved.
Ahmad, who is also the Terengganu chief minister, was chosen following the coalition’s Supreme Council meeting held this afternoon at the PAS Headquarters on Jalan Raja Laut.
