PETALING JAYA: AIZO Group Bhd said its indirect subsidiary Uniqa (M) Sdn Bhd has obtained a Class B Money Services Business (MSB) licence from Bank Negara Malaysia, enabling it to provide remittance services.

Uniqa is a 60%-owned subsidiary of Techmile Resources Sdn Bhd, which in turn is wholly owned by AIZO. The licence allows the company to facilitate international money transfers for individuals and businesses.

The approval is valid for one year until March 3 2027 and marks AIZO’s entry into the regulated remittance and cross-border payment services sector.

The group said the move forms part of its strategy to diversify into financial technology-enabled services and expand its participation in Malaysia’s digital payments and cross-border financial ecosystem.

Executive chairman Datuk Abang Abdillah Izzarim said the licence represents a significant milestone as the group expands beyond its traditional operating segments into regulated financial services.

He said the company plans to progressively develop Uniqa’s remittance capabilities through technology-driven platforms and strategic partnerships while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.

AIZO said the addition of regulated remittance services is expected to complement its broader strategy of building a more diversified and resilient business portfolio.
