“By all means, carry out dakwah. There are no restrictions as such. But it must be done in accordance with the regulations.”

PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today urged all parties to comply with the law, saying dakwah activities are allowed as long as they follow regulations.

He said enforcement actions must be conducted carefully and transparently.

“In the past two to three weeks, there has been extensive enforcement — involving MACC, temples, dakwah activities and others.

“There has been a great deal of action taken, and our officers are carrying out their duties well.

“By all means, carry out dakwah. There are no restrictions as such. But it must be done in accordance with the regulations,” he said during the Prime Minister’s meeting with ministry staff today.

He stressed that regardless of the circumstances, all parties must follow the rules.

“We must remember that this is a nation governed by law, and laws must be upheld. I have also been involved in dakwah efforts previously.

“But if anyone wishes to conduct dakwah in a way that obstructs or disrupts public order, then the rules must be followed,” he added.

Earlier, PAS Youth strongly condemned Kuala Lumpur City Hall’s (DBKL) action against the Street Dakwah booth organised by Multiracial Reverted Muslims (MRM) in Bukit Bintang.

DBKL, however, said in a statement yesterday that the tent had been obstructing the pedestrian walkway.

The authority explained that its officers went to the site to seek clarification from those involved, but after waiting more than 30 minutes, no representatives came forward to cooperate or provide an explanation.

Following this, DBKL dismantled the tent and moved the materials to storage in accordance with existing laws and regulations.

The individuals responsible were not present during the enforcement operation.
