A bird got hilariously stuck on a Sungai Buloh lamp post during Ramadan — and Bomba had to swoop in to save it!
FORGET your weekday blues — the Sungai Buloh Fire and Rescue Station (Balai Bomba dan Penyelamat, or BBP) had quite the unusual call-out on Monday, and the internet absolutely lost it.
A bird somehow managed to get itself firmly wedged onto the metal frame of a street lamp, leaving it flapping its wings helplessly in a desperate attempt to break free.
With the poor thing going nowhere fast, firefighters were called in to carry out what might just be the most wholesome rescue operation of the year.
BBP Sungai Buloh later shared a video of the incident on their official TikTok account, where the feathered patient could be seen beating its wings frantically before being safely freed by the rescue team.
The station kept it light with their caption: “Kisah hari Isnin yang panas, khidmat khas burung tersangkut di tiang lampu” — loosely translated as, “Hot Monday story: special service for a bird stuck on a lamp post.”
The clip quickly racked up reactions from Malaysians who, true to form, came armed with jokes and commentary sharper than any rescue tool.
One netizen, @Ieyra mieyra, pointed a cheeky finger at whoever filed the report: “The real question is — who had the time and energy to actually make a police report about this?”
The top comment, however, went to @The Zhariff’s mama, who offered the most Malaysian explanation possible: “This bird must have been microsleeping. Understandable lah — it’s the fasting month, everyone’s exhausted.”
Not to be outdone, @Encik Fikri took the joke to Premier League territory: “Could be the Tottenham Hotspur rooster — devastated after losing to Arsenal.”
No injuries were reported — bird included.
The rescued animal was safely released following the operation.
As for the firefighters of BBP Sungai Buloh, they handled the call with as much professionalism as any other emergency, proving once again that Malaysia’s Bomba truly goes above and beyond — feathers and all.
