Malaysian para shuttlers Cheah Liek Hou and Mohamad Faris Ahmad Azri secure the men’s doubles SU5 world title in Bahrain, adding to Cheah’s earlier singles triumph.

CHEAH Liek Hou completed a golden double at the BWF Para Badminton World Championships 2026 in Manama, Bahrain today.

After successfully defending his men’s singles SU5 title, Cheah partnered Mohamad Faris Ahmad Azri to clinch the men’s doubles SU5 gold.

The Malaysian duo overcame second seeds Fang Jen Yu and Pu Gui Yu of Taiwan 23-21, 21-13 in a 35-minute final at Isa Sports City.

This victory marks Cheah’s seventh men’s doubles SU5 world championship title.

His previous triumphs came in 2005, 2007, 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2024.

Earlier, the 37-year-old Paris 2024 Paralympic gold medallist defended his singles crown with a commanding 21-6, 21-11 win over Fang Jen Yu.
