A visit to the Ramadan bazaar in Putrajaya has sparked online discussion after a customer revealed she was charged RM5 just for ayam percik gravy.
In a Threads post, the woman shared that she had stopped by a nasi kerabu stall and ordered lauk lemak bakar, solok lada and garlic to-go.
“Asked to pack grilled coconut gravy dish + solok lada + garlic.
“Saw they had ayam percik gravy, so I asked to pack just the gravy.”
Her total came up to RM21.50 — with RM5 attributed solely to the gravy.
“Hmmm… That’s all I want to say. Don’t want to comment, don’t want to complain,” she wrote in her caption.

Although she did not directly criticise the vendor, the post quickly drew mixed reactions from netizens.
One user pointed out the rising cost of ingredients, commenting, “A kilo of coconut milk is now RM18,” referring to the increased price of coconut milk, a key ingredient in ayam percik gravy.
Another wrote, “Coconut milk is expensive, percik gravy must be thick but RM5 is too expensive.”
The woman later clarified in the comments that she was not expecting it for free, but was surprised by the price.
