Change your air, elevate your day: Inside Daikin’s AIR CREATOR

DAIKIN Malaysia has introduced AIR CREATOR, a new ecosystem that reimagines air conditioning as a personalised lifestyle experience built around how Malaysians sleep, work, relax and exercise.

Rather than focusing solely on cooling, AIR CREATOR integrates an air conditioner, an aroma diffusing air purifier and a mobile application into a single, synchronised system.

Associate director Ching Khim Huat described AIR CREATOR as a newly conceived brand centred on personalisation, designed to optimise air and space for each individual and create an ideal living environment.

“As climate conditions, living environments, family structures and consumer values continue to diversify, the definition of comfort is shifting from one size fits all to comfort that adapts to each individual lifestyle,” he said at the KL launch today.

Ching added that the brand represents an evolution of Daikin’s long standing direction.

“AIR CREATOR goes beyond merely controlling temperature or removing discomfort. We are creating air that supports how people feel, think and live.”

Four scenes, one tap

AIR CREATOR is built around four preset life scenes: Fitness, Sleep, Focus and Chill-out. Each scene adjusts not only temperature, but also humidity, airflow, air purity and fragrance.

Managing director Lawrence Song said the goal is to create a different feeling when consumers use the system.

“We are striving to make the air perfect for each user,” he said, adding that the aim is to create differentiation so users experience a distinct feeling during different moments of the day.

On personalisation, Song added: “When you are exercising, you may not want strong cooling, but you may still want clean air and deodorising support. During sleep, you may want something entirely different. That is why we created these four elements.”

In Sleep mode, the system automatically adjusts temperature through the night to minimise discomfort, while the purifier releases lavender to help users fall asleep and peppermint to support waking up.

The Fitness mode allows users to switch off the air conditioner while keeping the purifier running to deodorise the room during workouts.

For work or study, the Focus scene fine tunes airflow and diffuses peppermint intermittently to reduce fatigue and maintain alertness.

The Chill-out mode is designed to simulate a relaxed, breezy environment, adjusting airflow to mimic a natural wind while diffusing calming aromas to help users unwind after a long day. It is positioned as a setting for leisure moments, whether spending time with family or simply relaxing at home.

Users can also customise additional scenes beyond the four presets through the app, tailoring airflow and fragrance combinations to suit personal preferences.

Smart control and energy monitoring

The Daikin Air Select app synchronises both devices and provides energy monitoring tools. Users can track energy usage by month, year or by individual room, offering greater transparency over electricity consumption.

The app also allows users to set consumption targets. If usage exceeds the defined limit, the system can notify users or automatically reduce operating capacity to manage energy use.

For households with multiple rooms and family members, this centralised oversight provides better control and potentially lower energy bills.

To address connectivity concerns, AIR CREATOR includes an offline mode that allows direct control of devices even without internet access.

Accessible pricing

Under its PLUS instalment programme, the AIR CREATOR air conditioner is available from RM104 per month, while the combined air conditioner and aroma diffusing air purifier package starts from RM156 per month.

The launch promotion allows consumers to enjoy both products under a monthly instalment plan, positioning the ecosystem as an accessible upgrade to existing home cooling systems.

By combining climate control, purification and fragrance into one app driven ecosystem, Daikin is positioning air not just as background comfort, but as an active part of daily wellbeing.
