Afika shares her joy after adopting a child, then having a baby 11 months later, inspiring mothers online
A Malaysian mother has touched hearts online after sharing her story of receiving double blessings within a year. Afika Rusli, married in 2015, had been trying to conceive for ten years.
“Adopted a child in 2024. Fell pregnant in 2025 after trying for 10 years. Never expected Allah to bless us with two children at once—they’re only 11 months apart,” she revealed.
Her eldest daughter is now one year and three months old, while the newborn baby boy is three months.
The post quickly drew attention, with netizens sending heartfelt congratulations. Many believe that adopting a child can lead to blessings of one’s own.
“Actually, I often hear stories of double blessings like this. My friend had the same experience. They adopted a child, and within the same year his wife became pregnant. Congratulations!” shared Adzrul Arif.
Another mother, Natasya, shared her story. “We adopted a child in 2014, and a week later I became pregnant—but sadly had a miscarriage. Then unexpectedly, I got pregnant again, and the baby was born in 2015, the same month as our adopted child.”
She added, “Now, Inshallah, we have five children including them, and we’re expecting another baby in April 2026.”
Niezatul Nurliyana, an adopted child, said her parents had no children in their six years of marriage.
“They cared for me until I was 10, and then Allah blessed them with their own children. It took 16 years of marriage before they had a biological child. Alhamdulillah, Mama and Abah never treated me any differently,” she shared.
Afika responded warmly, saying that she is very happy to hear her story.
“May I become a good mother to my children. Now I feel a bit guilty because she became a big sister in less than a year. I apologise to her every day,” she said.
However, the netizens said that Afika is blessed and she should continue to take good care of the adopted child as well.
“It’s your responsibility to look after them. Don’t show favouritism, and nurture love between all your children. Hopefully, both of them will care for you when you grow old,” said Cik Ma Zura.
