KOTA KINABALU, Oct 8 — A 27-year-old engineer has been remanded for four days for allegedly sending death threats to counsel Datuk Ram Singh, believed to be linked to the inquest of Zara Qairina Mahathir.

Magistrate Wan Fara Wan Ghazali allowed the remand application under Section 117 of the Criminal Procedure Code following a request by the investigating officer on Wednesday.

The remand, which began on October 9, will run until October 12, while the investigation is being carried out under Section 506C(1) of the Penal Code.

It is understood that the man surrendered himself to the police at the station here on Tuesday.

Ram reportedly received messages containing threats such as “Nanti kamu mati disoal Tuhan” and “Biar kau mati katak.” — Daily Express
